Cailyn’s First Haircut

Yes, the title is correct. I have never cut Cailyn’s hair. Yes…she is almost 4! I’ve really been wanting to cut Cailyn’s hair for the last year. Every time we’d talk about it, she’d start to freak out and have a major melt down. Last week we were talking about it and she said that she’d get it cut on her birthday. Her birthday isn’t until February, so I obviously was not for that…so I suggested that we do it on Christmas Eve. She thought that was a great idea. I really didn’t want to do it today, because I have way too many things to get done before my family shows up so I suggested that we cut it last night. Cailyn persisted, “But it’ not Christmas Eve!!” Then I said, “Well, it’s the Eve of Christmas Eve!!” Then she said, “Oh okay.” So I hurried up and got all my hair stuff ready so she wouldn’t have time to change her mind. I can’t believe her hair was so long!! I am growing grace’s hair out to be that long:) It looks way cute!!
Zoey has only had her hair cut once, and I just trimmed it a little. So I don’t think it’s so odd that you have never cut her hair before.
Zoey HATES having her hair combed and so I threatened once that if she didn’t stop crying when I combed her hair I’d cut it all off short. So now she BEGS me to cut it short. But I kind of like her long hair-because not all little girls her age have such long hair and she gets lots of compliments on it. But perhaps it’s time to bite the bullet and cut it short. Cailyn’s looks so cute that I feel inspired. (unfortunately Zoey’s mom is not nearly as talented in the hair department so I’ll have to drag her somewhere to have it done and who knows when I’ll actually get THAT inspired.)
